Comments Off on The Gigabyte M27UA is a high-resolution monitor specifically crafted for video gamers, featuring a USB hub and specialized gaming capabilities.
Gigabyte recently introduced a new monitor that merges high resolution with a rapid refresh rate, catering to a wide range of uses beyond just video gaming.
Gigabyte is introducing a new monitor, the M27UA, which is primarily targeted towards video gamers, although it is not limited to this demographic. The 27-inch IPS panel boasts a resolution of 3,840 x 2,160, offering ample workspace for users who multitask with multiple applications. However, the high resolution can also be demanding as it requires powerful hardware to deliver smooth playback. The M27UA features a refresh rate of up to 160 Hz and offers a response time of one millisecond (MPRT) or five milliseconds (gray-to-gray). Additionally, it supports FreeSync Premium to effectively prevent screen tearing.
The brightness reaches a maximum of 400 cd/m². The IPS panel may not be ideal for showing high-contrast content at the level of an OLED because of its 1,000:1 contrast ratio and display technology, but it is certified for DisplayHDR 400. Gigabyte claims that it covers 95% of the DCI-P3 color space. It also promotes various gaming features, including enhancing dark areas of the image, zoom, night vision, and displaying a crosshair.
The display is capable of receiving image signals through HDMI 2.1, DisplayPort 1.4, and USB-C. It supports USB PD with a modest 18 watts, and includes a USB hub with three USB 3.2 ports for peripherals and data storage. Additionally, it is equipped with two speakers, each with an output of 3 watts.
