Corsair’s latest 45-inch 21:9 ultrawide gaming monitor introduces a distinctive feature: the capability to transform into a curved display with assistance from the user.

The monitor, known as the Corsair Xenon Flex 45WQHD240, features a unique design element. It is equipped with handles on both sides that can be easily extended and used to transform the flat screen into a curved one. By simply pushing back on the handles, the display returns to its original flat state. The degree of curvature, measured at 800R (with a radius of 800mm), can be adjusted according to the user’s preference when they pull on the handles.

Corsair managed to create a bendable gaming monitor without sacrificing any essential features. The Xenon Flex is equipped with an LG OLED panel boasting a resolution of 3,440-by-1,440, a refresh rate of 240Hz, and a peak brightness of 1,000 nits. It also offers a gray-to-gray response time of 0.03ms and full compatibility with both Nvidia G-Sync and AMD FreeSync Premium.

Dennis Jackson, the Senior Director of Systems Product Management and Marketing at Corsair, stated that they set out to develop a revolutionary display that offers an amazing and personalized experience. He believes that they have successfully reached and surpassed their objective.

Corsair is showcasing their latest monitor at Gamescom 2022 this week, however, they have not disclosed the pricing or release date. They have assured that the availability and final specifications will be revealed “later in 2022,” indicating that there may still be some design issues to address. The task of enabling a 45-inch OLED panel to be flexed multiple times without incurring any harm undoubtedly poses several distinctive engineering obstacles.
