LG has verified that their latest OLED screens comply with the updated VESA HDR standards by undergoing recertification. As a result, we anticipate a rise in the number of screens obtaining DisplayHDR 1.2 certification, thus promoting the adoption of the new standard.
Buyers of monitors should take note that the certification processes for new DisplayHDR 1.2 screens are significantly more rigorous compared to older DisplayHDR screens. Therefore, it is advisable to verify the date of certification for your screen to ensure it meets the most up-to-date standards. Ideally, monitors that have been tested to the new DisplayHDR 1.2 standard will be clearly labeled as such, aiming to reduce any potential confusion.
