The TUF Gaming VG34VQL3A is the latest entry into the crowded 34-inch WQHD arena.
Within its well-liked TUF Gaming line of products, Asus is introducing a new display that promises to be highly powerful for enthusiasts. The 34-inch VA panel of the TUF Gaming VG34VQL3A has a 3440 x 1440 (WQHD) resolution. In addition, the VG34VQL3A has a curved panel, precisely 1500R, as is typical with widescreen monitors.
Aside from them, the display has a 1ms GtG response time, a 400 nit brightness rating (available in SDR or HDR mode), and Asus claims that it covers 125 percent of the sRGB color gamut. The maximum refresh rate is 180Hz, which is a significant improvement above typical 165Hz displays. However, 34-inch WQHD gaming monitors with 240Hz refresh rates are starting to appear more frequently.
The contrast ratio was one feature that I paid particular attention to. VA panels are renowned for their outstanding contrast. They perform far better in terms of black levels than IPS panels, although not being as good as Mini LED or OLED. The contrast ratio of the VG34VQL3A is 4,000:1, which is higher than that of most VA panels, which hover around 3,000:1.
Even though Asus states that the VG34VQL3A is AMD FreeSync Premium Pro approved, we are almost positive that it will also function with GeForce graphics cards that support Nvidia G-Sync. Additionally, it supports the VESA DisplayHDR 400 specification and is TÜV Flicker-free and Low Blue Light certified. It supports extremely low motion blur.
There are two HDMI 2.0 ports and two DisplayPort 1.4 connections for connectivity. For connecting your peripherals, there is also an onboard USB hub with three USB 3.2 Gen 2 (Type-A) connections. In addition, the VG34VQL3A comes with two built-in 2-watt speakers if you don’t wish to connect a set of external speakers. There is also a 3.5mm jack for your headphones, however we doubt these will be adequate to satisfy serious audiophiles.
